Powertherm are a member of the Thermal Insulation Contractors Associations (TICA), this demonstrates our commitment to the ongoing improvement of our industry and also keeps us up to date on the latest developments. We are fully versed in the latest products and techniques with a particular focus on quality, reliability and durability.

Our thermal and acoustic insulations are used in the following areas:

  • Cryogenic to High Temperature Applications
  • Pressure Vessels
  • Boiler & Associated Piping
  • Storage Tanks
  • Flue Gas Desulphurisation (FGD) Projects
  • Combined Cycle Gas Turbines (CCGT)
  • Combined Heat & Power Plants (CHP)
  • Waste to Energy Projects (EfW/W2E)
  • Biomass Energy Projects
  • Anaerobic Digestion Projects
  • Incineration & Crematoria
  • Oil & Gas Installations

We’ve been supporting several of the UK’s major industrial fan manufacturers for over 15 years, developing innovative and pioneering solutions for complex, and at times cumbersome, installation procedures.

We also have a team of industry-leading installers and fabricators who provide much needed, on-site and on-request support for our clients.

Due to the unique nature of the fans that we produce, each item’s specification and operating requirement will be different based on its intended use. To ensure we provide the right manufacturing and installation solution, we always ask clients to help us understand the answers to the following sets of questions:

Operating Conditions

  • What will be its maximum operating temperature?
  • When running, what will be the expected decibel output?
  • What will be the minimum and maximum ambient temperature?

Required Performance

  • Personnel protection, what does the outside cladding temperature need to be?
  • Acoustic reasons, what decibel reduction is required?
  • Heat conservation, what is an acceptable heat loss?

  • Where will the equipment be sited and how will this impact on the insulation system?

Many of our clients also require electrical trace heating installing to the fan skin casing to prevent condensation/frost. Having the ability and expertise to provide both insulation and trace heating services in-house gives our clients all the benefits and convenience associated with purchasing from a single source.

Flexible insulation covers are easy to fit and remove, eliminating the requirement for an insulation engineer during regular maintenance operations. Due to this, they are becoming increasingly popular for the insulation of valves, flanges and other items of equipment.

Flexible insulation covers are cost effective to purchase and they are individually tailored to ensure a perfect fit. They offer better protection against mechanical damage and reduced thermal conductivity when compared to metal cladding and are suitable for use in any industry or environment.

Powertherm are currently manufacturing a range of flexible insulation covers:

  • Valve and flange covers for indoor or outdoor use
  • Acoustic insulation covers
  • High temperature covers
  • Expansion joints
  • Individually tailored covers to suit pumps, flow meter and fan casings
  • Heated insulation covers
  • Food quality covers
  • Chemically resistant covers

If you have a particular project where you feel these products may prove advantageous, we would be happy to discuss your requirements.
